Matilda "Wheezer" Choi is a spunky Korean-American girl who loves professional wrestling and can use anything as a weapon. She is a proud tomboy with six brothers, ever battling parents, and a hatred for anything "girly." The third book is told from her point of view. At the end of the third book, she is no longer bothered by cheerleading (if not enjoyed it) and told her parents about her job. She defeated Brainstorm when she launched a stone statue using her inhalers. She has a possible romantic interest in Duncan Dewey/Gluestick.
Matilda suffers from bronchial asthma and can't even walk ten feet without getting winded. When she got her upgrades her inhalers could turn into rocket boosters and blow torches, which means they allow her to fly and blast enemies. In the first book her inhalers flew her as fast as Flinch ran. In the fourth book her inhalers could fire a blast that hurt Flinch. In the third book she was given two more inhalers that allow her to breath under water and increase her jumping height. She was given a utility belt for this purpose. She also is a very good fighter but dosen't feel comfortable with martial arts style fighting. She states, in book 3, that she doesn't like the strict movements, but knew enough about it to fight against a person with such abilities.
